A key component of the FSMA-PCHF rule is the development of a written food safety plan overseen by a Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI). A PCQI must affirm they have “successfully completed training in the development and application of risk-based preventive controls at least equivalent to that received under a standardized curriculum recognized as adequate by FDA or is otherwise qualified through job experience to develop and apply a food safety system.” Food Plus Technology provides on-line and instructor led PCQI Training in a standardized curriculum recognized by FDA.
Because writing a Food Safety Plan can be difficult, especially for a recently trained PCQI, Food Plus Technology has developed PCQIplus, a cloud-based Food Safety Plan authoring application. The application used a structured intake process to guide the PCQI in making decisions about potential hazard that require preventive control using FDA Guidance and in the writing of all the required elements of a Food Safety Plan; including a Recall Plan.
